Postpartum. Even though I found many resources, I realized no one I knew personally ever talked about this time. Everyone focuses on the baby and its needs when first entering the world, but I had no clue what to expect for myself in that fourth trimester. When it finally came, some aspects surprised me, and some I had mentally prepared for based on the lists of things that one is recommended to have in stock.
It’s easy to focus on the baby’s needs when first entering the world, but it is equally important to prepare for those first weeks after birth concerning your care. I’ve been thinking back on this time lately as I prepare to welcome our second baby very soon! Here are some things that can help you during your recovery.

For down there
Peri Bottle - I got one from the hospital, but also purchased this one.
Sitz Bath - I got this from the hospital as well, but you can get one here if yours doesn’t provide you with one.
Tucks Pads or any witch hazel pads help relieve burning and itching. They are very soothing.
Adult Diapers. Seriously the best for the first few days.
Pads I liked these ones, and be sure to ask your hospital - according to my research, most provide you with a good supply!
Thinx Underwear or any period underwear is great once things start tapering off. You can also use these instead of pads.
Ice packs. I got some from the hospital but I wish I had had these too! I’m going to grab some for this time around.
For the Girls
Nursing Pads Super necessary for once the milk starts coming in! The variety pack is great.
Lanolin nipple cream for those breastfeeding.
Soft nursing bras I loved these ones for lounging, and make sure to get some supportive ones too!
Hot/cool pad for mastitis - I did not need this, but have heard these are very helpful.
Breast Pump (Most insurance companies get you one for free!)
Extras for you
Lip Chap (I like this one)
Water bottle - I preferred one with a straw for easy access!
Comfortable, loose clothing (I lived in leggings and sweatpants)
Nursing PJs (I bought TWO of these! So comfy!)
Recovery Tea (I heard this one is good)
Healthy food, snacks, and drinks for recovery!
