Michigan is a cold place. I don't have anything against the cold, but after a couple of months I long for Spring to come again. In about a week, the Mister and I will be boarding a plane to somewhere warm. It's just for the weekend, but I'm excited nonetheless.
I love traveling. Well, let me rephrase that: I love seeing new places. The travel part of it isn't always so fun. To make things easier, I try to pack as light as I possibly can, and dress as comfortably as is socially acceptable (I love maxi dresses and skirts for this!). There's nothing worse than lugging a heavy bag around an airport. Trust me, I know. There are a few things, however, I never let my carry-on go without, just so it can be a bit more bearable. I decided to share some of them today for some Thursday fun.
Here are a few of my carry-on essentials! My favourite is at the very end.

I love these because they don't leave a kink in your hair - so you're still pretty much presentable when you arrive at your destination. Always a good thing.
Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes with White Tea Extract • Burt's Bees
I didn't know I needed these until I got them. Perfect for freshening up during travel - especially when it's very warm.
Ello Syndicate 20-Oz. Glass Water Bottle
This amazing bottle will save you money and save the environment. Just fill up at the water fountain after you come through security and you are all set!
Mango MANGO Openwork cable-knit sweater • MANGO
I always keep a sweater. Just like the blanket scarf, you never know when you'll need to keep warm or use it as a pillow!
Mix No. 6 Fuzzy Crew Socks - Women's • Mix No. 6
Fuzzy socks make me fuzzy and warm on the inside. They'll keep you warm on the chilly plane, and make it that much better when you inevitably take off your shoes during long flights.
Fossil Emma Rfid Large Zip Wallet • Fossil
This wallet is the perfect size for your necessary cards and your passport too. I actually prefer an even smaller wallet with only the essentials, but this one has served well too!
Apple 10.5-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi 64GB - Space Gray • Apple
My iPad is much lighter than my computer, and I like to pair it with a bluetooth keyboard in case I need to do some writing while I'm away! I also have my kindle app downloaded on it so that I don't have to bring more devices than necessary. Also, you never know when you'll need to play a quick game of solitaire to keep you occupied.
eos Organic Lip Balm - Women's • EOS
I don't think I need to say any more about this!
Oversized Wool Scarf
Absolutely necessary. I've used this thing as a scarf, as a blanket, as a pillow...you name it. Oversized scarves are the thing to have!
And of course, my favourite compact Bible! I got this one two years ago and it fits perfectly into my carryon - and is super pretty as well! Now I don’t have to lug around my big, heavy Bible everywhere I go.
